The HERON-RIG-KCIST Colloquium on 1 April 2026 will feature talks by Prof. Petros Maragos, Prof. Evangelos Papadopoulos, and Prof. Costas Tzafestas, who are visiting in connection with the HERON project.
HERON, the Hellenic Robotics Center of Excellence, is funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe Widening Programme (Teaming for Excellence). The initiative aims to establish the first Robotics Center of Excellence in Greece for advancing robotics in the AI era, together with industrial innovation.
The center is being developed as a joint effort between the Athena Research Center, Greek university partners, the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). It brings together research activities across several robotics domains, including safety and security, field robotics, and healthcare and social robotics.
The colloquium offers an opportunity for exchange on current developments in robotics and AI with leading researchers involved in HERON’s scientific activities.
